HP Smart Tank 7005 All-in-One

My new HP SMART TANK 7005 is ‘NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE’ because it will not let A5 glossy paper print, it just jams up

inside the printer (paper ruined).

The A5 glossy paper I have always used worked fine with my old printer, the same one that this one is so what’s changed?

Also I can’t get a phone number why?  This is all very bad for HP, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

From a very angry customer.

You can contact me on my email address:-<removed>.

From Trev Makepeace.

Welcome to the HP English Community --

I am sorry you are very angry -- that's a tough place to start when you want to solve a problem.

Should you wish to speak with HP Support instead of asking for help here in the HP Community,

Please submit a case request to HP Support.

HP Support does not free-post support phone numbers.

After your case is submitted and accepted, regional contact information will be displayed on your screen.

Not good enough?

If the printer is simply not "fit for purpose",

If the printer is within the return window,

Consider returning the printer to its place of purchase.

We do not judge what people decide.

Want help?

Most of what we can offer will likely be a duplicate to what you know about the model.

The hardware on this printer is not different from a model of the same type.

Perhaps take a look --

Ignore suggestions are not relevant, are unwanted, or are already tried.

Online Case Submission to HP Support is available to those whose devices registered and are still in Warranty.

Some (Most) regions display phone / chat contact information only after the case is submitted online.

Not every issue is covered under the standard Hardware Warranty.  Purchased Care Pack Warranties differ by contract.

HP is not a "general" repair facility: Requests for out-of-warranty repairs are usually not accepted.

If the problem is hardware, if your device is in Warranty, if your device is Registered, and you cannot submit your case to Support, let us know and we will forward a request.

What can the Community do?

Perhaps start here --

The first place to check for supported paper sizes and types is on the printer.

Look for a combination that will let you select the size of the paper with the print surface.

Note that you cannot usually select Photo Paper unless you are using (loading) Photo paper into the printer.  Most printers have a photo paper sensor and will balk at an unsupported combination of size, type, and weight.

This printer lacks a full service touchscreen Printer Control Panel.

Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to view / adjust the printer's settings and features.

 User Guide - HP Smart Tank series - 6000, 7000, 7300

EWS / PIN information and location - Pages 44-45

EWS > HP Document / How-to (InkJet Printers – Original Format)

Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

NOTE:  Find printer IP address

Section Open the EWS over a local network orientation

EWS – Tray and Paper Management

Original EWS

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper (Management)

Select / Adjust settings for Paper Size / Type

Model and EWS version Dependent:  Advanced section

Click Apply to save changes

Next,

What you do next depends on the Operating System / version and the applications / software you are running.

Relevant to supported versions of Windows

If the "old" printer that worked is the same as the "new" printer,

Then the same setup would normally apply, including the need to remove any existing software, restart the computer, and install the full driver printer software for the new printer.

Ask if you need help to uninstall / reinstall the full driver printer software.

>>> Full Feature Software - Web Pack Installation Webpage - Information - Download / Save / (then) Install <<<

HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software – Offline Use Only

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in.

Next,

Check / Adjust the Printer Properties > Tab Advanced > Driver = HP driver
