I paused the paper add on subscription whilst it was under the free 30-day trial, I then decided I did not want to sign up to the paper add on service so subsequently cancelled the paper add on whilst still under the free trial.

Because I cancelled this paper add on service as well as pausing the service does this mean I will be charged for one month of this add on paper service?

@Matth1984, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Paper Add-on Service Trial and Cancellation!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you decide to cancel the Paper Add-on service during the free trial period, you should not be charged for the service. Here's how it generally works:

  • Trial Period: You have the opportunity to try the Paper Add-on service for free for 30 days. During this period, you can take advantage of the service without incurring charges.
  • Cancellation during Trial: If you cancel the Paper Add-on service while still in the trial period, you should not see any charges for the service on your account.
  • Pausing and Cancelling: Pausing the service does not typically incur charges. However, if you cancel the service while still in the trial, it's prudent to double-check your billing statements to ensure no charges were mistakenly applied.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Thank you for your reply, however I have today received the following email: bearing this in mind I was wondering if perhaps you have an email address that you can contact HP direct on?

Your final bill will be charged between 13 June 2025 and 17 June 2025.

Since your HP Instant Ink plan is billed at the end of your billing cycle, you will be charged for paper one final time. If you printed over your available plan pages before your subscription ended, you will incur additional fees.

@Matth1984, Thanks for getting back to us — I understand how this might be confusing, so I’ll help clarify!

Even though you cancelled the Paper Add-on during the free trial, HP Instant Ink (and its add-ons) are billed at the end of the billing cycle. So if your cancellation happened after your billing cycle started (even within the trial period), there may still be one final charge, especially if any pages were printed beyond the plan allowance.

The good news is — this will be the last charge, and you won’t be billed again for the Paper Add-on moving forward.

If our solution hit the spot, please click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an incredible day ahead!
