Paper.size won't change again, only A4

I know I've had this problem in the past but once again I cannot change the paper size that I want to print on. Sir print and the HP app are only giving me A4 and I know I can usually print on Letter.

Has there been an update that has

Printer - Tray and Paper -

Check / Adjust the supported paper size and type in Tray and Paper.

Tray and Paper is available using the Embedded Web Server (EWS) and from within HP Smart (Advanced Settings).

Reminder:

HP Smart - Mobile >> Paper Size and Type must be adjusted before content is opened.

Hi Dragon-Fur, unfortunately, it's not the printer that has the problem, it's the app. I can change settings on the printer but to air print or print from the hp app it will not let me change from A4 to letter as the only paper option available on either of those is A4 plain at the moment. I know this has happened before when the app was updated and it overrides the actual  printer settings, wasting ink and paper and stops me from doing what I need to do 😔

The hint to your Operating System is "Air Print" -

Having to guess -- perhaps using iOS ?

I don't have a lot new to offer.

What?  Even if it is "the app", there are limits to what you can do to "fix" an app on a mobile device.

Small list of suggestions for HP Smart Mobile

Did you try using EWS to change the paper size / type?

• Connect the printer and the device / computer / tablet to the same network 
• Restart Everything, including the router that controls your network
• Make sure your device is updated - for example, running latest version of iOS
• >> Use EWS or use HP Smart > Settings > Preferences to preselect the paper size / type - Tray and Paper
• Uninstall the app from your device > Shut off the device for a minute > Switch on device > Install a new copy of HP Smart
• Ensure that all devices are running the latest version of the application used on the particular device / computer / tablet.  Update where / if necessary.

EWS is usable from your browser or from within the HP Smart menu.

Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper Management

Select / Adjust settings for Paper Size / Type

Model Dependent:  Advanced section

Click Apply to save changes
