HP Envy 7640
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to scan something to an email using an HP Envy 7640.  I receive a Server Problem error; Printer could not connect to Web Services. The Server might be busy or temporarily unavailable.  Try again later.  I saw a like item which had a solution, but I didn't fully understand the solution as it spoke of a factory reset, deletion of an app and basically starting over from scratch.  I was looking for more of a step by step solution, versus a general fix answer.  Thanks in advance for listening.

@Threesco, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

Are you trying to use the 'scan to email' feature on the printer?

Have you tried scanning a document to the computer and check if that works?

Note: If you have not made any changes to the printer, it could be that the web services are down. You may have to wait for a day or two for it to be fixed by HP.

Refer to this document to know how to turn on web services.

Make sure the printer is connected to the internet.

Update the printer firmware

If the issue persists, perform the steps mentioned in this document - Cannot Connect to Web Services

Kumar,

Yes I was able to use Scan to Computer to Email.  I just may have to settle for that because most of your other links and/or helpful  direction you supplied is beyond me.

Printer Claim Code?  I've got no clue as to what that might be and I have a printout of HP Network Configuration Page, which does not mention it.  The Wireless Network Test Results printout says Internet connected, but not so when I'm at the printer.

@Threesco

It seems like web services are down at the moment. HP is trying to fix it at the earliest. Kindly wait for 24-48 hours.

If the issue persists, please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region for further assistance.

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
