HP ENVY 5052 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 IOT

I keep receiving the following error message when I try to print something: "printer cannot run the Web Access Test." I've followed every instruction received on how to correct this problem, including disconnecting all cables and reconnecting them, resetting the printer to the original manufacturers settings, reconnecting to the wireless internet router, etc. Nothing works, plus HP Inst-ink keeps sending me emails to reconnect my printer

Hello @Tukuafu1989, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP printer.

We appreciate the opportunity to assist you and are glad we could help work toward a resolution. We hope our support has been valuable.

To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please let us know the printer's name and the model number along with the network setup of the HP device so that we can assist you further?

In the meantime, could you please try a few troubleshooting steps and let us know?

Check Router Settings & Wi‑Fi Bands

If you are using a dual-band router, the printer may struggle to connect if both bands are active.

  • Connect your PC or mobile device to your home Wi‑Fi network.
  • Access your router settings and confirm that the 2.4 GHz band is enabled.
  • Temporarily disable the 5 GHz band during printer setup, or create a guest network limited to 2.4 GHz.
  • Connect the printer to the 2.4 GHz network and retry the setup or test.

Use HP Smart App – Diagnose & Fix

Instead of using the printer’s control panel, try HP’s built-in troubleshooting tool.

  • Open or install the HP Smart App on your device.
  • Select your printer and go to Diagnose & Fix.
  • Follow the on-screen steps to automatically resolve connection or Web Services issues.

Clear the Print Queue (If Jobs Are Stuck)

If printing is not working, a stuck or corrupted print job may be causing the issue.

  • Search for Services in Windows and open it.
  • Locate Print Spooler, right-click, and select Stop.
  • Press Windows + R, type C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS, and press Enter.
  • Delete all files in the folder.
  • Return to Services, right-click Print Spooler, and select Start.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
