HP ENVY Photo 7858 All-in-One Printer

I have had the worst experience with any product/service that I ever purchased. Shortly after I purchased this printer I was having trouble with it and I contacted HP support and all the lady was interested in doing was selling me the instant ink program. In fact she never really addressed the problem I called about. I was not interested in the program but she forced me into it or was basically not going to help me. So I reluctantly bought onto the program. Since then I have had nothing but problems. In fact, once I purchased ink form the store and HP shut down my printer so I could not use it. Another time I called because I could not connect to the printer and the man who assisted me told me it was a problem with my IP address and told me he could fix it for a fee of about $500. This to me was close to extortion in my opinion. I am leaving out a lot of details or this would be too long. I have not been able to use the printer for a long time. But I keep getting billed from HP for ink. I am ready to file a complaint with the BBB but I thought I would try one more time with HP.

Hi @Tom8882,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Instant Ink subscription!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m really sorry to hear about your experience. I’d like to clarify how the HP Instant Ink program works to help you make the best decision moving forward. Instant Ink is a subscription service similar to Netflix, whether you use the ink or not, a monthly fee is charged based on your selected plan. However, you do have the option to pause or cancel your subscription at any time to stop future charges.

Regarding your printer being disabled after purchasing ink from a store, Instant Ink cartridges are tied to the subscription, so if you choose to leave the program, you’ll need to replace them with standard cartridges.

I hope this helps.
