Hi @Blahblah251,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing a the "cartridge or account issues" message on your HP DeskJet 2800e likely indicates a problem with:

  1. Cartridges – They may not be installed properly, expired, empty, or not genuine HP Instant Ink cartridges.
  2. HP Instant Ink Subscription – If you are enrolled in Instant Ink, your account might be inactive, or there is a billing issue preventing printing.

Steps to Fix

Step 1: Check Instant Ink Status

Since the error mentions an "account issue," your HP Instant Ink subscription may be paused or canceled.

  1. Go to HP Instant Ink
  2. Log in to your HP account
  3. Check if your subscription is active or if there are any billing problems

👉 If there’s a problem with your Instant Ink subscription, you’ll need to fix it before printing.

Step 2: Check the Cartridges

  1. Remove both the black and tri-color cartridges.
  2. Clean the contacts with a dry lint-free cloth.
  3. Reinstall the cartridges and make sure they click into place.
  4. Restart the printer and check if the error persists.

🔹 If you use non-HP cartridges, HP printers may block them due to firmware updates. Try using genuine HP cartridges.

Step 3: Reset the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cable for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Plug it back in and turn on the printer.
  4. Try printing again.

Step 4: Check HP Smart App

  1. Open HP Smart on your Windows 11 computer.
  2. If there’s a cartridge or account-related message, follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. Try printing a test page from HP Smart.

If the issue persists, let me know if you’re using HP Instant Ink or regular cartridges!
