Bought my printer, immediately subscribed to Instant Ink, after several months of using their cartridges, there were no more shipments of color cartridges. My account said I was using a non-HP cartridge. I have only used the Instant Ink cartridges. I could not find any help, was desperate to print and bought a HP cartridge from the store. Installed it, still would not work, tried getting answers with no luck, so I cancelled my subscription, bought two new HP cartridges, printer still will not work, partially. I can print from my computer, but cannot scan because it says I am not connected to the internet, even though I am and the printer indicates I am. If I can't use it, I will trash it and go buy another brand, but, in the meantime, anyone else have suggestions?

@Galenrd, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I see that you are not able to scan. Instant Ink is not related to scanning. Since you have cancelled the Instant Ink subscription, it should not be causing this issue.
Do you get any errors while trying to print or scan?
Turn off web services
Click here to know how to turn off web services.
Try to print and scan.
Note: Make sure you are not using Instant Ink cartridges. It will not work as the printer is not enrolled anymore.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Kumar, I will accept your premise that Instant Ink and my scanning problem are not related, and that the timing was entirely coincidental.
I found the Instant Ink program to be a great service and I talked it up to many people and some joined the plan. Since the original problem of one of the color cartridges not being recognized as a HP Instant Ink, which started the whole whirlwind of finding a solution and disabling my printer, I found that the discussion boards, both within HP and largely outside of the HP domain have many others complaining of similar problems, HP Instant Ink cartridges not being recognized and causing a lot of headaches. Perhaps HP should listen and address this problem. If they ever do and I see the reported issues drop off, I might rejoin the plan.
Thank you for your response to my post.

We do not have such an issue as of now with Instant Ink cartridges. Yes, you may rejoin when you want to avail the service. Until then, you may use the regular HP ink cartridges.
You may buy these from HP online store or local stores nearby.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
