HI,

My OfficeJet 3830 will not connect to the Instant Ink servers. I have done all the troubleshooting recommended in other people's posts, but nothing is working. This has been going on for a couple of weeks now. I work from home. I need this to work ASAP.

That’s frustrating, especially when you rely on your printer for work! Since your HP OfficeJet 3830 won’t connect to Instant Ink servers, here are some steps that might help:

 

1. Restart Your Network & Printer

  • Power cycle your router: Turn it off, wait 60 seconds, then turn it back on.
  • Restart your printer and computer.

 

2. Check Printer’s Internet Connection

  • Print a Network Configuration Page to verify the printer is connected to Wi-Fi.
  • If the printer is connected but still won’t reach Instant Ink servers, try switching to a different network (e.g., mobile hotspot).

 

3. Reset Web Services

  • Open the HP Smart app or Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  • Navigate to Settings > Web Services.
  • Disable Web Services, restart the printer, then re-enable Web Services.

 

4. Update Printer Firmware

I've done all that several times. I just went ahead and ordered a new printer.
