Microsoft Windows 11

I signed up for the 3 month instant ink trial.  It has run out and now my printer has been disabled until I pay hp.  I've tried to cancel my account and it says it cancelled.  But still won't let me print.  I tried removing the printer from the hp app but it said it won't let me remove the printer until I cancel my subscription but it says my subscription is cancelled.  Contacted customer support and all they told me was to pay if I wanted to continue to be able to print.  If I had known my printer would be useless unless I paid a subscription I wouldn't have bought it.  Is there anyone who can help me with this or should I just buy a different printer from a different company?

Hi @Skb83,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your printer being locked due to the Instant Ink subscription restrictions. HP Instant Ink uses special cartridges and if your subscription is canceled, these cartridges stop working. Here’s what you can do to resolve the issue:

Replace the Instant Ink Cartridges:
If you still have Instant Ink cartridges in the printer, you will need to replace them with standard, Regular HP Ink cartridges purchased from an HP store. Instant Ink cartridges only work with an active subscription.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
