Hi @KC36912,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer shows “Check Account” even though you’ve paid and your account looks clear, this usually relates to HP Instant Ink or subscription validation. Here’s what we recommend trying.

Recommended Fix

1. Check Internet Connection

  • Make sure the printer is connected to Wi-Fi and shows Connected in the network settings.
  • If needed, restart your router and printer.

2. Sign Out and Sign Back In

  • On the printer’s control panel or HP Smart app:
    • Go to Settings > HP Account.
    • Sign out.
    • Sign back in with your HP account credentials.

3. Sync HP Instant Ink

  • Open HP Smart on your phone or computer.
  • Go to Instant Ink > Account Status.
  • Click Refresh or Sync.

4. Update Printer Firmware

5. Restart Printer

  • Power off the printer.
  • Unplug for 60 seconds.
  • Plug back in and turn on.
