I'm having trouble calculating the period. My HP12C Gold, model C1GP330, gives a value of 15, but the correct value is 14. When the calculation is performed on the virtual HP12C, the same calculation generates the answer 14!!! How can I solve this?

 

Example:

Pv= -78,000.00

Fv= 110,211.96

i = 2.5

N = ?

 

Another problem is about the fractional period starting at zero. The calculator doesn't perform the calculation and displays "error 5".

 

Example:

Pv= -947.22

Fv= 1,000.00

N= 0.48

i=?

 

I've tried several ways to format the calculator and it still has the same problems. Is there any type of configuration that can be done?
