I was sure your solution would solve my problem, but I am such a novice and couldn't get my printer reset.  I tried it through my phone, and tried it through my printer and my computer, but I would get all the way to the end, and it would say that the process could not be completed until I had instant ink.  HP is NO help, at all as their "help line" is now constantly busy.  My neighbor came over to try, and ended with the same "instant ink" message.  I know HP could probably delete that, but they won't do it.  I will just trash this printer and buy another brand, I guess?  Nothing else works.

Hi @ShariWE,

It sounds like your printer is part of the HP Instant Ink program, which may be preventing you from printing due to certain conditions of the subscription.

Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

  1. Check Subscription Status: Make sure your HP Instant Ink subscription is active by signing in to your HP Instant Ink account on the HP website.

  2. Inspect Ink Cartridge: Verify that the ink cartridge in your printer is an HP Instant Ink cartridge. Using non-HP cartridges may cause issues with printing under the subscription service.

  3. Connectivity Check: Ensure that your printer is connected to the internet, as this is necessary for the HP Instant Ink service to update your ink status and orders.

  4. Payment Verification: If applicable, check that your payment method associated with the HP Instant Ink account is up to date.

For more detailed troubleshooting, you may find the HP Print and Scan Doctor to be a helpful tool in diagnosing printer issues related to HP Instant Ink and other services.
