Common problems for INSTANT INK, HP+ PLANS: INK AND TONER
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Instant Ink. Check out this link: HP INSTANT INK, HP+ PLANS: INK AND TONER. .

HP instant ink is a scam. 1. It is a seriously major privacy issue since it gives HP access to your printer to spy on your activity and share it. 2. Buying a printer only to then charge people a fee for printing from their own printer from their own home is outrageous.

If I were you, I'd return the printer and replace it with non HP alternative.

@Vanillaman, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

I have decided to return my HP printer and get a refund or replacement it with another make, eg. Epson, Brother, Canon etc. Neither I or my business will not purchase or deal with HP products. The Instant Print scheme is a scam. It also allows HP to spy on customers activities and interfere with their printers. As of this morning HP halted my printer from printing important documents. I will alert potential customers and businesses to make them aware of these ongoing issues and the HP invasion of privacy.
