Operating System: Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

I have been having problems with the colour cartdrige for a while now for my ENVY 4527 printer of getting the error message 'Remove and reinstall cartridge. having done all the suggested solutions such as cleaning the heads downloading the firmware but to no avail as nothing seems to work. I have a monthly subscription but I am thinking that I am wasting my money. I have tried the virtual agent which seems a waste of time and i can't see a way of contacting HP. If anyone can help I would be grateful.
