Remove the cartridge error

One day , my printer simply came up with the message 'Remove and reinstall indicated ink cartridge, making sure it is correctly installed and then touch ok'. I have reviewed many posts and have followed the guidance. I have an account with Instant ink, I have undone all the cables and restarted as instructed, I have received a new ink cartridge and tried that, I have cleaned the connections as instructed. None of this has made any difference. What else is there, is it to do with HP updates that I may have received, though the printer still prints when I remove the black cartridge from the printer. so if it was that then would it not affect both cartridges. I am about to throw my printer out the window. Help
