Help I just realized that my instant cartridges won't work because I canceled the subscription which is terrible because I overpaid I only used one cartridge in a year. This is the second cartridge it's full and when I realized how much I was paying I canceled the subscription... And now I can't use the rest of the ink that I paid for?

Welcome to the HP English Community --

Instant Ink is a good service for those who print regularly, print a lot of content, or have other reasons why purchasing ink for the printer is not an acceptable option.

What?

Instant Ink is an excellent service for those who print regularly, print high-density documents or artwork, or perhaps print lots of homework.  For example, those who benefit the most include Teachers, musicians, writers who like hard copy, large families , small business offices, community centers, churches, and others who love -- or need -- to print on paper.

For the occasional user, combined with "free ink" as the priority, Instant Ink is not a "good deal" as much as it is a convenience.

Instant Ink works on a Print-by-Page model.

Ink is included in an active contract.

What?

There is no charge for ink -- Plan fees are measured by printed page count.

Use a drop of ink or a cup full, ink is included as part of your plan.

After the plan is terminated, however that comes about, Instant Ink cartridges stop working.

"Not working" includes those cartridges activated by the service and all the ink sent to you during the time the contract is active.

All Instant Ink / subscription cartridges remain the property of HP.

After the plan is terminated, Instant Ink cartridges must be removed from the printer (they no longer work).

Purchase and install a fresh set of HP ink cartridges.

Return HP's Instant Ink / Subscription cartridges to HP (free service).
