Common problems for INSTANT INK, HP+ PLANS: INK AND TONER

I know that if you print more than you are paying for, you're charged per page.  Yesterday, May 10th, was the day my pay period ran out. I overprinted 4 pages (didn't realize I had).  So I stopped printing for the rest of the day. And no complaint about paying the 1.50 per sheet.  I didn't start printing until 9 am this morning, May 11th when (it says under my account) the new pay period starts.  I got an email from you all that I'd over printed on May 10th by 24 pages, at a cost of $36.00.  When I checked my account, it also said I'd printed 99 pages today.  I actually printed about 300 pages today (May 11th).   I have tried all afternoon to find a way to chat or talk with someone but it hasn't worked despite several tries. I read the Virtual Ass't answer in here to someone with a similar complaint -- a standard answer that assumed the person didn't understand or had been scammed. So sorry I fell for this program, so sorry I've recommended it to others. Used to love HP printers. No more.

OK,  If I could delete this,  I would.  I finally was able to find the customer service number to call (could they make it easier?) and got help from a real person. Got this cleared up and am so satisfied.  It was my own lack of understanding (not in the process of paying for pages, not ink) -- but in how long it takes for the system to count how many pages have been printed.  Turns out, I printed more pages than I thought on May 10th.  That 504 count was earlier in the day -- there were lots more by the end of the day.  So all is good, I need to pay more attention to how many pages I'm printing.   (Doing some serious writing plus research for something else).  Going to hold on to my HP printer.

Welcome to the HP Community --

It's not the printer -- your HP printer does not require an ink subscription.

The Instant Ink Subscription is supposed to work as intended.

It is true that overages are charged back as Page Sets -- I think it's per 10 page sets and certainly not 1 page per charge.

It's true, too, that printed pages are not always counted immediately -- not sure why -- I believe (without actually knowing from experience) that the counts are gathered at specific times instead of "as printed".  ??

Doesn't matter -- something is out of whack.

It can be fixed, though you will need the help of an HP Agent or Instant Ink Support to access your private account information.  -- What? -- Those of us outside of HP cannot -- and should not - have access to any of your private information, including your subscription account!

It might be faster if you contact Instant Ink Support directly.

Early is better than later -- the queue can be long.
