Hi @Beyond8394

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I acknowledge the issue you are facing where the scanner error is preventing the printer from functioning. Let’s go through recommended steps to restore full functionality:

Step 1: Confirm Copy Function on Printer Panel

  • On the printer’s control panel, try making a direct copy.
  • If the copy works, the hardware is fine and the issue is with the software connection.

Step 2: Reset the HP App

  • On your Windows device, go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
  • Locate HP App, select Advanced Options, then choose Reset.
  • This clears any corrupted settings that may block scanning and printing.

Step 3: Re-add Printer in HP App

  • Open the HP App.
  • Select Add Printer and follow the guided setup to reconnect the printer.
  • Ensure the printer is on the same Wi-Fi network (preferably 2.4 GHz).

Step 4: Run Diagnose & Fix Tool

  • In the HP App, go to Printer Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
  • Allow the tool to automatically detect and resolve issues with printing and scanning services.

Step 5: Update Firmware and Drivers

  • Visit HP’s official support page for your printer model:
    HP Printer Support
  • Download and install the latest firmware and drivers.
  • This ensures compatibility with the HP App and Windows.

Step 6: Test Printing and Scanning

  • After completing the above steps, try printing a test page from the HP App.
  • Then attempt a scan to confirm both functions are restored.

These steps are designed to address the scanner error while ensuring the printer regains full functionality.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
