Setup, Reports and Maintenance pages ARE being counted on my printer.
So far, 5 pages have been counted, and my Print Head Alignment is still not completed after new Cartridges were installed.

Hi @JustNukeIt,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're dealing with an issue where the setup, reports, and maintenance pages are being counted as part of your printer's page count, and the print head alignment hasn't completed after you installed new cartridges. Here's what you can try to resolve these issues:

For the Setup, Reports, and Maintenance Pages Being Counted:

These pages are usually printed during setup or maintenance processes, and while they aren't typically considered part of regular printing, they can contribute to the page count. If these pages are showing up unexpectedly, consider the following:

  • Check the Printer’s Settings: Some printers may have options for limiting or skipping certain setup pages or diagnostic reports. Check the printer's menu for any settings related to "Reports" or "Maintenance" pages and disable them if possible.
  • Factory Reset: If these pages are being counted during an incorrect setup or maintenance process, performing a reset might help. You can perform a factory reset by following these steps:
    1. From the printer's control panel, go to Settings.
    2. Select Printer Maintenance.
    3. Choose Restore Defaults or Factory Reset.

For the Print Head Alignment Not Completing:

If the print head alignment hasn’t finished after replacing the cartridges, here are a few things to try:

  • Make Sure the Cartridges are Installed Correctly: Double-check that the new ink cartridges are installed properly and seated correctly. If they are even slightly misaligned, the printer may not be able to complete the alignment.
  • Run Alignment Again: After ensuring the cartridges are correctly installed, you can initiate the print head alignment process again.
    1. On the printer's control panel, go to Settings.
    2. Select Printer Maintenance or Tools.
    3. Choose Align Printhead or Align Cartridges and follow the instructions.
  • Use HP Smart: You can also try running the alignment through the HP Smart app. In the app, select your printer, then navigate to Printer Settings and look for the Align Printhead option.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
