This is an odd one. On the Instant Ink Overview, when it finishes syncing the printer, the time is 5 hours in the future!. The time shown on my computer and the time on the printer control panel are both correct. The time is also correct in the HP Smart settings.
I've tried restarting both devices and it hasn't changed. This is after spending a couple of hours trying to get my new computer and the old printer playing well together, and then having Instant Ink not "connect" to the printer and saying I didn't have any printers, even though it was showing in the upper corner for connected printers. Finally got all of that sorted out, but the time is still off. Any ideas?

Hi @Reba101,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing some frustrating issues with your HP printer's time settings. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this.
- Update Firmware: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can fix bugs related to time synchronization.
- Reset Network Settings: Try resetting the network settings on your printer. This can sometimes resolve connectivity and synchronization issues.
- Check Time Zone Settings: Verify that the time zone settings on your printer are correctly configured. Even if the time itself is correct, an incorrect time zone setting can cause syncing issues.
- Factory Reset: As a last resort, you could perform a factory reset on your printer. This will reset all settings, including time settings, to their default values. Make sure to note down any custom settings before proceeding with a factory reset.
Since you've already restarted both your computer and printer without success, focusing on firmware updates and ensuring correct time zone settings are likely the next logical steps.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
