Hi @121computer,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I can understand how frustrating it must be to encounter this issue after resetting your printer, especially when you're already enrolled in HP Instant Ink. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to get this sorted out for you.

  • Did you ensure that your printer is properly connected to the internet after the factory reset?
  • Have you logged into your HP Instant Ink account recently to confirm your enrollment and subscription status?
  • Does the printer display any specific error codes or messages beyond the one regarding enrollment in Instant Ink?

Let's try these steps.

Reconnect to Wi-Fi and Verify Network Connection:

  • After performing a factory reset, your printer may have lost its connection to your Wi-Fi network.
  • Go to the Settings menu on the printer and reconnect it to your network. Ensure that the printer is properly connected to the internet for Instant Ink to verify your subscription.

Log In to HP Instant Ink on the Printer:

  • From the printer's control panel, navigate to HP Instant Ink Settings and try signing in to your HP Instant Ink account.
  • If you are unable to log in directly from the printer, you can log in to your HP Instant Ink account via a web browser on your computer or mobile device to verify that your subscription is active.

Check Your HP Instant Ink Account Status:

  • Log in to your HP Instant Ink account on the HP Instant Ink website to confirm your enrollment and that your account is in good standing. Sometimes, there may be a billing issue or temporary pause that affects the status of your account.
  • If you’re unsure about the status, contacting HP support through the Instant Ink portal might help resolve the issue.

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 30 seconds. Plug it back in and turn the printer on.
  • This can help reset any temporary issues and allow the printer to detect your Instant Ink enrollment.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • If your printer is connected to the internet, it may need to update its firmware after a factory reset.
  • Check for firmware updates either through the printer’s settings or by using the HP Smart app on your device to update the printer’s firmware.

If the issue persists after following these steps, I would need a few details to check your Instant Ink account.
