Hello @Kaitlynnemo, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for letting us know that you have an HP Officejet Pro 8025e and are setting it up using iOS.

The error shown in the HP app typically indicates an issue with HP account registration, HP+ enrollment, or printer-to-account synchronization rather than a hardware fault with the printer.

Please try the following:

  1. Sign out of the HP app and sign back in using your HP account.
  2. Ensure the printer is connected to the internet and not just connected to Wi‑Fi locally.
  3. Restart both the printer and iPhone.
  4. Remove the printer from the HP app and restart the setup process.
  5. If possible, try completing the setup using a different network (such as a mobile hotspot) to rule out a network-related issue.
  6. Verify that the printer is not already registered to another HP account.

Since the setup is failing during the registration stage, if the error persists after the above steps, the printer's registration status may need to be reviewed by HP directly.

Could you please confirm whether the printer is brand new or previously owned, and whether the same error occurs when attempting setup from another device?

Have a great day!

I'm an HP Employee.

It was previously owned

It’s still failing to register, even after following the advice

Thank you for the clarification. @Kaitlynnemo

Since the HP Officejet Pro 8025e was previously owned by a different owner, the UA_400_EB000U0410 registration error is likely related to the printer's existing HP account or HP+ registration status.

If the printer is still associated with the previous owner's HP account, the HP app may be unable to complete the registration process under your account, resulting in the error you are seeing.

At this point, additional troubleshooting is unlikely to resolve the issue. However please provide us the below requested details on private message so that we can look into it and give you an update.
