@Ann297, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Yes, you can use the printer after canceling the instant ink subscription. At the end of the billing cycle, you must remove Instant Ink cartridges and purchase Original HP Ink or Toner directly from the retailer of your choice to continue printing. Instant Ink cartridges only work in enrolled printers.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I replaced the cartridges and it printed but would not evens how the option to print double sided. After a few hours of this, the printer’s LEDs started flashing meaning I could not access the menus or anything. After disconnecting from the internet so I could access the printer, I did a hard stop [disconnected the cable from wall and printer, waited 3 minutes, held the on button for 30 seconds], I got back on the internet so I could print wirelessly. This did not work and after about 3 minutes, the printer went back to flashing LEDs. This is a problem. I paid for a printer that works and purchased ink from the store, not HP. While it may not be intentional, this all seems to be as intended by HP.
