Web service disabled. Trying to use ink cartridge from when I was enrolled, not enrolled now. HELP

I just experienced this issue yesterday. Apparently even though the ink was received while you were using the service, once you are no longer a ‘paying customer’ the Instant Ink cartridges are useless.

 

I wish I had known this before, because now I have a lovely set of equally useless paperweights 🥴

HP Recommended

I guess you have to open the box and return them in the recycle envelope. Then they may be able to reuse them for a new account.
