HP ENVY 6432e All-in-One Printer

Every night, I shut down my computer and all peripherals connected to it by means of a general switch.

That makes my HP printer to go offline.

What will happen regarding my Instant Ink subscription? I mean, will the cartridges work when I switch it on again?

The printer will get connected to Internet almost daily, unless when we are on holidays. Is that a problem?

Thank you for your help.

Hi @ACR66,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

If you turn off your printer every day, it can affect your HP Instant Ink subscription in the following ways:

No Usage Data Sent to HP:

When you turn off your printer, it may not be able to send usage data to HP's servers, including information about your ink levels and printing activity. This usage data is used by HP to monitor your ink consumption and send you replacement cartridges when needed. If your printer is consistently off, HP may have less accurate information about your ink usage

Delayed Ink Shipments

If your printer is off for extended periods, and HP doesn't receive usage data, it might lead to delayed or inaccurate shipments of replacement ink cartridges. HP relies on the data from your printer to determine when to send replacement cartridges, and if this data is not up to date, it could result in you receiving cartridges earlier or later than needed.

No Remote Printing

If you have a subscription that includes remote printing or other cloud-based features, turning off your printer daily may limit your ability to use these services, as the printer needs to be online and connected to the internet for these features to work.

To ensure the smooth operation of your HP Instant Ink subscription, it's advisable to keep your printer powered on and connected to the internet as much as possible. If you need to turn it off occasionally, try to do so only when it's not in use for extended periods.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
