Common problems for INSTANT INK, HP+ PLANS: INK AND TONER

I have bought DeskJet Plus 4100 All-in-One Printer series back in June 2021, and I have had the subscription since then, but I don't understand why HP charges me for printing my own paper that I buy and use with the ink cartridge I also purchase. It would be beneficial to have the option to choose whether or not we want to enroll to track our monthly paper usage and still be able to print without additional charges. It is frustrating that HP controls the use of a printer that we have paid for, especially when there is no way to use it without a subscription. I am not concerned about the number of pages I print each month since I am aware of my usage. It seems unnecessary to be charged for something that I can manage on my own. I believe there should be a choice that does not involve paying for a monthly subscription, allowing me to print without relying on a library for free printing if I cannot afford a subscription.

What other printers are there that I can buy without enrollment process. I can go to another brand but it would be a shame if HP doesn't sell a printer that don't include enrollment/subscription.

Welcome to the HP Community --

Subscription to Instant Ink is always optional.

HP printers do not require an Instant Ink subscription to be used.

The bombardment to join is simply marketing.

"Just say No" applies to the subscription service when you don't want to subscribe.

What now?

You can cancel the subscription.

Pay attention when you cancel -- just like having the subscription, there are obligations and responsibilities that come with cancellation.

The information you need is included below.
