I have been charged the same amount of 26.86/mo for the last 4 months when I have plenty of ink and have very rarely used my printer.  I signed up for the HP refill ink service almost 1 1/2  years ago and have never had this charge every month before now.  I also use my printer way less than before.  Did anyone know why this is?

Welcome to the HP User Community.

First, No - we do not know why you were never charged for your monthly subscription plan until recently.

Instant Ink is a "Print-by-Page" subscription.

The subscription is (should be) billed each month for the price of the selected / subscribed plan.

What about the Ink??

Ink is supplied as part of the subscription to the selected plan.

Ink is only sent when the printer notifies the service that ink is needed.

If you run low on ink - if you print a lot - you get more ink without having to request the shipment.

If the printer does not need more ink - no ink is sent.

This means:

Ink should only be sent when the printer notifies the service that ink is low and new ink is needed.

Instant Ink is "free ink" - this is true but only to the extent that ink is included in your active subscription.

You do not simply get free ink sent each month or at any predetermined schedule.

Check at the Website - read how the plan works - read every FAQ and every page of information.
