@isha221, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
We see that you're getting error code 0xA00F4244 ("We can't find your camera") on your HP ENVY x360 13-bf0000 running Windows 11, and you've already tried:

  • Restarting the camera
  • Uninstalling/reinstalling the camera driver
  • Running Windows Troubleshooter
  • Other usual fixes

And still no luck.
Frustrating, I know. Let's dig deeper because this error can happen even when everything looks right. Here’s what might actually be happening + some focused steps you probably haven’t tried yet:

Check if the camera is disabled at BIOS level

HP laptops sometimes have a BIOS setting to disable webcam hardware for security reasons.
Here's how to check:

  • Turn off your laptop.
  • Turn it back on and immediately press Esc repeatedly until you see the Startup Menu.
  • Press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
  • Look under System ConfigurationBuilt-in Device Options → Look for something like "Integrated Camera" or "Webcam".
    • Make sure it's Enabled.
  • Save changes and exit BIOS (F10 key usually).

👉 If it was disabled, enabling it should fix everything instantly.

Check the Physical Camera Privacy Switch or Hotkey

Some HP ENVY x360 models have:

  • A tiny slider/switch on the side of the laptop near the camera, OR
  • A keyboard hotkey (like F8 or F10 with a camera icon).

Actions:

  • Look closely near your webcam for a small privacy shutter. Slide it open.
  • Press the camera hotkey (Fn + [camera key]) to toggle the camera on.

If the shutter is closed or the hotkey disables it, Windows will throw that 0xA00F4244 error.

Manually reinstall drivers (not auto)

Sometimes Windows reinstalls a generic "USB Video Device" driver instead of the real HP driver.
Instead, do this:

  • Go to Device ManagerCameras.
  • Right-click your camera → Uninstall device.
  • Also check "Delete the driver software for this device" if you get the option.
  • Restart the laptop.
  • Now download and install the specific HP Camera Driver manually:

(If you want, I can find the exact driver link for your 13-bf0000 if you want to skip searching!)

Check Windows Privacy Settings

Quick Check:

  • Go to SettingsPrivacy & SecurityCamera.
  • Make sure "Camera access" is turned ON.
  • Make sure "Let apps access your camera" is also turned ON.
  • Scroll down and make sure the app you're trying to use (like Camera app) has access.

Sometimes after Windows updates, privacy permissions get broken.

Test in Safe Mode

This checks if some other app (like antivirus, Zoom, Teams, etc.) is blocking the camera.
Try:

  • Restart → Hold Shift → Click Restart → Choose TroubleshootAdvanced optionsStartup SettingsRestart → Choose Safe Mode with Networking.
  • Open Camera app in Safe Mode.
  • If it works here → some third-party app is blocking it in normal mode.

Last Resort: Hardware failure

If nothing works even after BIOS enabling, reinstalling drivers, and checking switches, then sadly the camera hardware itself may have failed. Then, We suggest you please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you. I hope this helps.
