HP DeskJet 3630 All-in-One Printer

My printer will not connect to my home wifi (long story, have given up) . I have now plugged the printer directly into my laptop and initially this seemed to work fine. I managed to print a couple if days ago. However today when i try to print i just get an error message, Printer in an error state. I have tried turning off the printer and disconnecting and reconnecting. The envelope with drop symbol is flashing in the display panel. Am i correct in thinking this is because i am now disconnected from instant ink? I cannot reconnect because of the wifi issue.

How can i simply print via my laptop without conneting to the wifi or istant ink? i'm happy just to go back to ordering my ink online.

This issue is driving me CRAZY!!!!! I just want to be able to use my printer!

Please help

Thank you

Hi @Beckster2021,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see there is an ongoing issue with the printer. Please do not worry I will try my best to help you.

May I know are you using a private network not a shared or public one?
May I know if the printer is enrolled in instant ink? If yes, Are you using instant ink cartridges?

May I know what is the wifi light status on the printer?

In the meantime, I request you to follow the steps mentioned below:

Network reset:

1. Disconnect the power cord from the router.

2. Turn off the printer.

3. Turn off the mobile device/PC.

4. Reconnect the power cord to the router, then wait for the Internet activity light to display a normal connected status.

5. Turn on the printer.

6. Turn on the mobile device/PC.

Once done,
Could you please try these steps to connect the printer to the network (in case of dual-band routers, please use the 2.4 Ghz wireless connection for the printer):

1.) Remove HP Smart App from your mobile device (if already installed).

2.) Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.

3.) Download and install HP Smart App on your mobile device from the app store.

4.) Open HP Smart App and follow the onscreen instructions on the screen to connect the printer to a wireless network.

Once done, let's disable and enable the web services.
Turn on Web Services: Click Here

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
