Hi @BeBe174 ,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

It is very frustrating when your printer is physically connected to Wi-Fi but cannot "talk" to the HP Instant Ink servers. This usually happens because the printer’s Web Services, the specific digital bridge used for your subscription—has stalled or the security certificate has expired, causing the printer to "lock" itself until it can verify your account status.

  1. Refresh the Web Services connection on the printer.
    • On the printer's touchscreen, tap the HP ePrint icon or go to Settings > Web Services Setup.
    • Select Remove Web Services or Turn Off Web Services and confirm to clear the old, stuck connection.
    • Restart the printer, return to the same menu, and select Setup or Continue to re-enable Web Services and generate a fresh "Information Page" with a new Claim Code.
  2. Manually set a Public DNS to bypass network blocks.
    • Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer's reports menu to find your printer's IP Address (e.g., 192.168.1.15).
    • Type that IP address into a web browser on your phone or computer to open the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS).
    • Go to the Network tab > IPv4 Configuration, change DNS to Manual, and enter 8.8.8.8 as the Preferred DNS and 8.8.4.4 as the Alternate DNS, then click Apply.
  3. Re-link the printer to your Instant Ink account.
    • Log in to your HP Instant Ink Dashboard on your computer.
    • Look for the Add a Printer or Replace Printer button and enter the Claim Code from the Information Page you printed in Step 1.
    • Follow the prompts to finish the setup, which will force a "Sync" command to the printer and clear the connection error message.

For further troubleshooting of connection blocks, refer to the official HP printer does not connect to HP+ or Instant Ink guide.

What is the specific Error Message or Error Code currently displayed on your printer's screen?

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Best regards,
