cannot use printer due to account

I have retired and no longer need the account; your software is preventing me from using my printer!

I understand how frustrating this must feel, especially when you just want to print without being blocked by account requirements. Here’s what’s happening and what you can do:

HP Smart or HP+ Requires an Account

• HP Smart and HP+ features (like Instant Ink, cloud printing, and advanced settings) require an HP account for activation.
• Some printers enrolled in HP+ cannot function without being signed in because HP+ is tied to the account for security and service benefits.

What You Can Do

1. Check if Your Printer Is HP+
   • Look for an HP+ logo on the box or in the printer settings.
   • If it’s HP+, account sign-in is mandatory and cannot be bypassed.
      
2. If It’s Not HP+
   • You can still print without an account by: 
     • Installing the basic driver instead of HP Smart.
     • Download from Official HP® Support.
     • Choose Basic Driver or Full Feature Software for your model.
        
3. Disable HP Smart Login Requirement
   • In HP Smart, sign in once, then go to Settings → Privacy → Sign-in Options.
   • Some models allow you to stay signed out after initial setup.
      
4. Alternative: Direct Printing
   • Use Wi-Fi Direct or a USB connection to print without HP Smart.
   • Wi-Fi Direct can be enabled from the printer’s control panel.
