Hi @JRC86,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Deskjet 4155e All-in-One Printer is asking for HP Instant Ink enrollment and you’re not enrolled in the service, it might be due to an issue with the cartridges or the printer's settings. Here are a few steps you can try.

  • Check Cartridge Compatibility: Make sure you are using the correct cartridges for your model. Even if they are compatible, double-check that they match the model numbers specified for the DeskJet 4155e.
  • Verify Cartridge Installation: Remove the cartridges and reinsert them, making sure they are seated properly. Sometimes, improper installation can trigger this message.
  • Reset Printer: Try resetting your printer to see if it clears the error message. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually check for updates through the printer’s settings menu or the HP Smart app.
  • Check Printer Settings: Sometimes, the printer might be set to use HP Instant Ink cartridges by default. Access the printer's settings through the HP Smart app and check if there’s an option to disable Instant Ink requirements.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
