Bought an 8035e printer from Facebook Marketplace, but have a very hard time connecting to my computer. After saying I need to enroll in Instant Ink, and I did that too, another screen popped up saying: this printer warranty is expired? not show what is going on! help!

Hi  @Reneewoo1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I hear your concern,  It sounds like you’ve already gone through Instant Ink enrollment, but the printer is still showing  messages about warranty and isn’t connecting properly. Don’t worry, the warranty status won’t stop the printer from working; it’s more of an informational notice.

Could you confirm:

  • Whether you’re trying to connect via Wi‑Fi or USB.
  • If you’re setting it up on Windows or macOS.

Here are a few quick steps you can try :

  1. Restart both devices: Power off the printer and your computer, then turn them back on.
  2. Check Wi‑Fi setup: On the printer’s touchscreen, go to Wireless Setup Wizard and reconnect to your home network.
  3. Install HP app: Download the HP  app from the Microsoft Store (Windows) or App Store (Mac). This app makes setup much easier.
  4. Run HP App: This App automatically detects and fixes connection issues.
  5. USB Check: If Wi‑Fi is giving trouble, try connecting the printer with a USB cable first to confirm it works, then switch back to wireless.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
