empty instant ink cartridges

I have a couple of sets of empty instant ink cartridges.  Instant Ink used to send out a stamped plastic envelope to seed empty cartridges back, however the last few times I have received my supply of ink, there was no return envelopes in the box.  Does Instant Ink no longer want the empty cartridges back?

I understand the confusion here—it feels unusual when something you’ve come to expect, like the return envelope, suddenly stops arriving. 

Thank you for holding onto those empty Instant Ink cartridges; that shows real care for recycling and the environment.

Here’s how the program currently works:

• Return envelopes are not always included with every ink shipment anymore.
• Instead, envelopes are sent once the system calculates that you have accumulated enough cartridges to make a return efficient. This helps reduce unnecessary shipments and packaging.
• If you have a stack of empties and haven’t received an envelope yet, you can request one directly through your Instant Ink account.

So, in short: HP still wants the empty cartridges back, but envelopes are now sent less frequently to save resources. If you’re ready to return yours now, follow the instructions below to order recycling envelope-

Your HP Instant Ink account page opens.

On your HP Instant Ink account page, click Order a Cartridge Recycling Envelope in the Help Center area.
