Hi @454778

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

The error code OW_4XX_OWSWS00001 on HP Instant Ink typically indicates a connectivity or setup issue with the printer. Here are some steps to resolve it:

Step 1: Verify Internet Connection

  1. Ensure your printer is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network.
  2. Restart your router and reconnect the printer to the network.

Step 2: Reset the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait for 2–3 minutes.
  3. Plug it back in and turn it on.

Step 3: Update Printer Firmware

  1. Visit the HP Support website and download the latest firmware for your printer model. Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support
  2. Install the firmware update and restart the printer.

Step 4: Re-register the Printer

  1. Log in to your HP Instant Ink account.
  2. Remove the existing printer from your account.
  3. Re-add the printer using the claim code provided during setup.

Step 5: Factory Reset

  1. Access the printer’s settings menu and look for the Restore Factory Settings option.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the printer to its default settings.
  3. Reconfigure the printer and reconnect it to Instant Ink.
