Hi @fascitelli,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're getting a "0! color ink" error message on your HP DeskJet 4155e All-in-One Printer even after updating the firmware, drivers, cleaning the ink terminals, and resetting the printer, it is possible that the issue might be related to the ink cartridges, especially if they're part of the HP Instant Ink program.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Make sure that the cartridges are installed correctly and securely in their slots.
  • Verify that there is no protective tape on the cartridges and that they are seated properly.

Use Original HP Instant Ink Cartridges:

  • Ensure that you are using genuine HP Instant Ink cartridges. If the cartridges have been refilled or are non-HP, this could cause the error. HP printers with dynamic security features are designed to work only with new or reused HP circuitry.

Order New Instant Ink Cartridges:

  • If you suspect that the existing cartridges are faulty, and you are subscribed to HP Instant Ink, check your account status to ensure new cartridges have been shipped or order replacements directly from the HP Instant Ink service.

Store Cartridges Correctly:

  • If you have spare cartridges, make sure they are stored at room temperature and in their original packaging until needed.

For more support and ordering details, visit HP Instant Ink.

If you need further assistance in checking ink levels or managing cartridges, you can find detailed steps in the HP DeskJet 2700, 4100, 4800 Printers - Replacement Printer Instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi

Finally received a new ink cartridge and this solved the problem.  Why did this happen in the first place?
