Hello @Sanzy, Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community. We understand that you are now the owner of the HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer, but the printer appears to remain associated with the previous owner's HP account.
A factory reset can clear local printer and network settings, but it does not automatically remove the printer from an HP account or cancel an existing Instant Ink subscription.
Please try the following steps:
Contact the previous owner
- Ask the previous owner to sign in to the HP account associated with the printer and remove the HP ENVY 5055.
- If the printer was enrolled in HP Instant Ink, the previous owner should also make sure the subscription associated with the printer has been properly cancelled.
- HP Community guidance indicates that removing the printer from the previous owner's account is the preferred method when ownership changes.
Restore the HP ENVY 5055 to factory defaults
- On the printer touchscreen, open Setup.
- Navigate to Tools/Printer Maintenance > Restore.
- Select Restore Factory Defaults and follow the prompts.
- Allow the printer to restart completely. HP documents factory reset as a method for resolving printer setup and connectivity issues.
Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi
- After the reset, reconnect the HP ENVY 5055 to your wireless network.
- The HP ENVY 5055 support page provides setup and Wi-Fi troubleshooting resources specifically for this model.
Set up the printer under your HP account
- Open the HP App and sign in with your own HP account.
- Add the HP ENVY 5055 as a new printer and complete the setup process.
Check Web Services
- Once the printer is connected, confirm that Web Services are functioning correctly.
- Restart the printer afterward and allow time for the printer and HP account information to synchronize.
Have a great day!
I'm an HP Employee.
