Hi @mecui

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for reaching out. I understand that after connecting your HP DeskJet 2620 to Wi‑Fi, you are being prompted to enter a custom password for the printer, and you're unable to proceed because you do not know what that password is.

To better understand the situation and provide the most appropriate guidance, could you please share the following details?

Are you seeing the password prompt on:

  • Your computer?
  • Your phone or tablet?
  • The HP App?
  • A web browser page?

Did you personally create a custom password for the printer in the past, or was the printer obtained from someone else?

What device are you using for setup (Windows PC, Mac, Android, or iPhone/iPad)?

Do you see any specific message along with the password prompt?

For better understanding, please also share a screenshot or photo of the screen where the password is being requested. This will help us identify whether it is asking for:

  • The Wi‑Fi network password,
  • The printer's admin password,
  • HP account credentials,
  • Or another security prompt.

Once we can see the exact screen, we'll be in a much better position to guide you further.

We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!

Regards,

Hawks_Eye
