I purchased an hp deskjet 2742e from someone on Facebook marketplace.   I am trying to register for hp instant ink because I am out of ink, however it will not allow me to because it says the printer is associated with another account.  There is no way for me to contact the person who I purchased the printer from.  What can I do? I really need ink.

If your HP printer is associated with another account and you are unable to contact the person you purchased it from, you can follow these steps to try and resolve the issue:

Perform a Factory Reset:

  • Perform a factory reset on the printer to clear any existing account information. Please note that this will erase all settings on the printer.
  • The exact steps for a factory reset may vary by model, so consult your printer's manual or HP's official support website for instructions.

If the issue persists Then This needs one-on-one interaction hence I'm sending a private message to assist you with the next action.
