HP DeskJet 4255e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

so I recieved a replacement printer in the midst of college courses i needed many things printed out. so i qucikly set up and paid for my instant ink account. i used up the small ink carts that were sent in the printer very quickly and realised i needed more ink. well now its not showing me having any subscription with instant ink.. i had the paper plus ink constantly being shipped to my home. im so confused and i am not sure what to do or what to ask. i paid the $6 and something when the replacement got her then paid my passed due amount from the old printer and now i have nothing. My luck of course the old printer has full carts and are inrolled and locked so i obviously cant use those.

Hi @Sprovience34

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're in a frustrating situation with your HP Instant Ink program after receiving a replacement printer. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help resolve the issue:

1. Verify Instant Ink Subscription Status

Since you’ve paid for the Instant Ink program, it’s important to verify the status of your subscription.

  • Go to the HP Instant Ink website: https://www.hpinstantink.com
  • Log into your account using the email and password associated with your subscription.
  • Check the status of your subscription and ensure it's active. This will confirm if the system recognizes your payment and the new printer.

2. Link the New Printer to Your Instant Ink Account

You might need to link your new printer to your Instant Ink account manually.

  • Open the HP Smart App on your computer or smartphone.
  • Go to the Instant Ink section and make sure the new printer is added and registered under your account. If the old printer is still listed, remove it.
  • Activate Instant Ink for your new printer in the app or online, ensuring that the system recognizes the new printer’s serial number.

I hope this helps.
