Hi @Larryabcd1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you purchased an HP LaserJet M110we Printer, and it is locked with HP+ linked to a previous owner’s account. Let’s go through a few points to clarify why this happens and what options realistically exist.

Understand what HP+ does
HP+ permanently links the printer to the original HP account used during first activation.
This link survives factory resets, network resets, and firmware updates.

Confirm that resets will not remove HP+
Restoring defaults, resetting network settings, or reinstalling firmware does not remove HP+.
This is expected behavior and not a fault with the printer.

Why the printer appears “locked”
HP+ is a cloud-based entitlement tied to ownership verification.
Without the original account, the printer cannot be re-claimed by a new user.

Requirement for removal or transfer
HP+ can only be removed if the original owner releases the printer from their HP account

I hope this helps.

Have a great day!

I'm an HP Employee.
