I have recently activated an instant ink plan to print a few pictures; this printer has always printed over saturated photos (especially in the red range of colours), but the pictures I have printed in these last two days are very dark and skin tones all resemble fake tans; I have tried various methods to solve the problem, from screen calibration to changing colour profiles for the screen and printer, but nothing works--pictures are always terrible. In the process I have wasted not only several sheets of photo paper, but also several pages of my instant ink plan.
So, I wanted to know a) how to obtain prints that vaguely resemble my on-screen images and b) how to get my instant ink pages back, since many were cartridge alignment and sample prints to help diagnose the problem, which is certainly not my fault...

Have you checked you HP Instant Ink account page? Your Instant Ink account page will have notifications if there are any issues with the account or recent cartridge shipment, it will even provide solutions on how to fix the issue. You may log in to your HP Instant Ink account page from here.
