HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer

We are a small business with 4  HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e printers. We have all of them enrolled in Instantink, but we are not sure which box of ink cartridges go to which printer. Every time we change the ink, we get an error message saying it's the wrong ink.

Hi @JPuleo,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e printers and the Instant Ink service. Error messages can occur for various reasons, and troubleshooting steps can help identify and resolve the problem. Here are some general steps you can take to address this issue.

  • Check Error Message: Take note of the exact error message you're receiving. This can provide clues about the specific issue.
  • Restart Printer: Power cycle the printer by turning it off, unplugging it from the power source, waiting for a minute, and then plugging it back in and turning it on.
  • Check Ink Levels: If the error is related to ink, check the ink levels on your printer's display or through the printer software on your computer.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes, firmware updates can address compatibility issues.
  • Check Instant Ink Account: Log in to your HP Instant Ink account and make sure your printer is correctly registered. Verify that your printer's serial number matches the one registered in your account.
  • Restart Instant Ink Service: If you're having issues specifically related to the Instant Ink service, you can try signing out of your Instant Ink account on the printer and then signing back in. This can help refresh the connection.
  • Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your printer is connected to the internet. Instant Ink services require an active internet connection.
  • Check for Updates: Check if there are any software or driver updates available for your printer from the official HP website. Updating these components might resolve compatibility issues.
  • Reset Printer: As a last resort, you might consider performing a factory reset on the printer. However, be cautious, as this will erase all settings and configurations, and you'll need to set up the printer again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
