Hi @nikurrrr,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out. If you're seeing "We can't find your camera" along with an error code when trying to open the camera, please try the following steps:

1. Check for a Camera Privacy Switch or Key
Some HP notebooks have a camera privacy shutter or a keyboard key that disables the camera.
HP's new Spectre laptops have a Webcam kill switch to protect you from creeps - CNET

  • Make sure the camera shutter is open (if your model has one).
  • Check the function keys for a camera icon and press the appropriate key combination to enable the camera.

2. Verify Camera Permissions

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Privacy & Security > Camera
  3. Make sure Camera access is turned on
  4. Make sure Let apps access your camera is turned on
  5. Verify that the application you're using has permission to access the camera.

3. Check Device Manager

  1. Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Cameras
  3. If the camera is listed:
    • Right-click it and select Enable device if available.
    • If already enabled, right-click and select Update driver
  4. If the camera is not listed, click Action > Scan for hardware changes

4. Run the Camera Troubleshooter

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters
  3. Run the appropriate troubleshooter if available.

5. Update Windows

  1. Open Settings > Windows Update
  2. Select Check for updates
  3. Install all available updates and restart the PC.

6. Test the Camera

Open the Camera app and check whether the camera is detected.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
