HP ENVY Inspire 7958e All-in-One Printer
macOS 15.0 Sequoia

Just unboxed a brand new HP Envy 7958e. Turned it on and went to complete the setup process on the HP iOS app. Agreed to HP+ sign up, then I receive the "This printer is associated with another account Error code UA_400_EB000U0422" error message.

 

Also the warranty says it was started in October 2023 and is already expired? Again, I just unwrapped this printer from the plastic and blue tape.

 

What gives?

I understand your brand-new HP Envy 7958e is showing an error saying it’s associated with another account (UA_400_EB000U0422) and that the warranty appears to have already started in October 2023. This can happen if the printer was previously registered or sold incorrectly. Let’s go through steps to resolve it.

 

Do not attempt multiple setups

Avoid repeatedly signing in or trying to register the printer, as this can lock it further.

Check the printer’s serial number

Verify that the serial number matches the box and receipt.

Ensure you purchased the printer from an authorized HP retailer.

Contact HP Support directly for account reset

Explain the printer was unboxed for the first time and shows another account.

Provide the serial number, purchase receipt, and error code.

HP can release the printer from the previous account so it can be registered to you.

Do not sign up for HP+ until resolved

Wait until HP confirms the printer is cleared of any previous registration.

This ensures you get the correct warranty and HP+ benefits.
