Hi!
I just set up my printer and wanted to enroll in the 6 months free trial of Instant Ink that it offered.
Unfortunately, every time I attempt to sign up, the screen blanks out with a red circle with a dash in the middle and says "System Error Try Again." Any idea on what might be causing this?
Thanks!

@kdlive, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If you're encountering a "System Error" message with a red circle when attempting to sign up for the HP Instant Ink free trial, there could be a few reasons and solutions to try:
Check Internet Connection:
- Ensure your printer is connected to a stable internet connection. An intermittent or unstable connection might cause system errors.
Enable Web Services:
- Make sure that the web services on your printer are enabled. You can check this in the printer settings. Follow instructions here if you need help enabling web services.
Use Latest Version of Browser or App:
- If you're using a browser to sign up, ensure it's updated to the latest version. Alternatively, use the HP Smart app, which can be downloaded from 123.hp.com for a more directed setup.
Printer Setup Verification:
- Double-check that the printer setup is completed as per the initial instructions. Sometimes incomplete setups can result in enrollment errors.
Try a Different Device:
- If possible, try signing up using a different computer or mobile device to see if the issue persists.
HP Smart Account Sign-In:
- Ensure you are signed into your HP Smart account before attempting to enroll in the Instant Ink service.
