I currently use an Instant Ink subscription for my HP ink, which has been working fine up till now. I have just replaced my 3 colour ink cartridge, where I am greeted with an error on the printer display saying "The indicated cartridges are not communicating correctly with the printer. if the problem persists replace the cartridges".  Well firstly I have gone through the trouble shooting, like resetting the printer, and even taking the cartridge out and cleaning the contacts with a cotton bud, None of these suggestions have worked. My guess is that i have a faulty instant ink cartridge.

 

Can HP ship me another cartridge to replace this one please. And also I need to print something today, and as I doubt HP will send a replacement to get to me today, I was going to buy a regular ink cartridge and send HP the bill for it. Please can you let me know how I go about submitting a bill - is there an email address I can use?

The document here has information on contacting HP to get replacement Instant Ink cartridges.  Go to the HP Instant Ink site, the phone number (or chat option for some countries) will be listed in the lower center of the opening screen. 

 

Alternately, you can click on the Virtual Assistant.  When the assistant opens type "Where is my ink?" (w/o the quotes).  The system will ask a few questions and then schedule your shipment.

 

Sending HP a bill for the cartridge will not likely be successful, per the terms of service.  If you need to print today I would suggest removing the color cartridge and printing in reserve mode.  The printer is able to print with one cartridge, in this case it would print in B&W/grayscale.
