Hi @gkirk,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that you're unable to access your Instant Ink status due to network connectivity issues, I would request you to please follow the steps:

Verify Printer Connection to Network

  • Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure your HP printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. You can print a network configuration page from your printer to verify it's on the correct SSID.
  • Ethernet Connection: Check that the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the printer and the router, if applicable.

Router Configuration

  • Network Band Compatibility: Make sure that your printer is connected to a 2.4GHz network, as many printers are not compatible with 5GHz networks.
  • Access Router Settings: You can access your TP-Link router settings by entering 192.168.0.1 or tplinkwifi.net in a web browser.
  • DHCP Settings: Confirm that DHCP is enabled to automatically assign IP addresses to connected devices.
  • Firewall and Security Settings: Check whether any firewall or security settings might be blocking your printer's IP address from accessing the internet.

Update Firmware

  • Router Firmware: Ensure your TP-Link router's firmware is up-to-date. Check and apply updates through the router’s admin interface.

Restart Devices

  • Power Cycle Devices: Restart your TP-Link router and printer to refresh the connection. Disconnect the power supplies, wait for about a minute, then reconnect and power them back on.

Check Printer Settings

  • Web Services/EPrint: Ensure that Web Services or HP ePrint is enabled on your printer, as these services are necessary for Instant Ink functionality.
  • Printer Firmware: Use the HP printer software on your computer to check for and install any available printer firmware updates.

Take care and have an amazing day!
