Microsoft Windows 11

I live in Romania and I'm enrolled in the free trial part of the InstantInk program, but i want to cancel IT since I believe it's too expensive.

After enrolling I received a set of free cartridges from HP Germany (without asking them) which I have NOT yet used.

If I cancel the InstantInk program, will I have to send the cartridges back to Germany? Or can I send them to HP Romania?

Hi @cosminemanuel,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To unsubscribe an HP printer from the Instant Ink program, you'll need to follow these steps.

Cancel Your Subscription Online:

  • Go to the HP Instant Ink website: https://instantink.hpconnected.com.
  • Log in to your HP Instant Ink account. If you don't have an account, you may need to create one.
  • Once logged in, go to the "My Plan" section, and you should see an option to "Cancel Enrollment" or "Unsubscribe." Click on that option.

Follow the On-Screen Instructions:

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the cancellation process. You may be asked to confirm your decision.

Remove the Printer from Your Account:

  • After canceling the subscription, it's a good practice to remove the printer from your Instant Ink account. This ensures that it is no longer associated with your subscription.
  • In the Instant Ink dashboard, go to "My Printers" or a similar section and remove the printer that you want to unsubscribe.

Factory Reset the Printer (Optional):

  • If the printer still shows signs of being connected to Instant Ink, you can perform a factory reset on the printer. Please note that this will erase all settings and configurations, so only do this if necessary.
  • To perform a factory reset, refer to the printer's user manual for specific instructions. Usually, it involves holding down specific buttons during startup or accessing the printer's settings menu.

Remember that HP Instant Ink subscriptions are typically linked to a specific printer's serial number, so make sure you've canceled the subscription and removed the printer from your account.

Once you cancel the account, You will not be able to use the cartridges after the account is cancelled. Hence you can send the cartridges back to HP.

Recycle HP Instant Ink cartridges

  1. Sign into your account: Home / Home Office: Sign into your Instant Ink account. ...
  2. Click HP Instant Ink, then Overview in the left menu.
  3. Click Recycle your ink cartridge or Recycle your toner cartridge at the bottom of the Cartridge Status area.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
